Dry, I have informed Solspace as well, as Tag 2.0 is a commercial addon and currently in beta. Maybe, you can get in touch with them - I’m unable to tell which extension would need to be modified.

Dry, I’ll take it up with Mitchell. We might be able to get you an advance copy of Tag 2.0 so you can test.

Hi Dry,

Using this extension is really really great but I was wondering how easy it would be to turn around the functionality so that instead of telling it which user groups can’t see an entry, instead you would tell it which can see the entry.

The only reason I ask is that if you had say 50 user groups (overkill I know) and you wanted to say only three of them could have access then you are going to have to do a lot of clicking for each entry!! :-D

Just wondering how easy it would be to change the extension to do that?

Thanks.

Mark

Hi Mark,

That should be relatively straightforward to do. I’m a little bit busy at the moment but give me a couple of days or so and I’ll sort something out for you.

Cheers

Any clues how this can be updated such that content can still be previewed (e.g. list of articles, search results), but will be protected when user tries to view the entire article? User will then be prompted to login.

Hi Allanctan,

I’m afraid that this extension was not designed with that sort of functionality in mind. When I have some time I may look at this kind of feature but at the moment that would require a major rewrite and is tricky anyway because of things like the custom fields.

Hi Dry,

Thanks for remembering me. No rush though. Whenever you can get around to it will do. 😊

Thanks again for the work on this.

Best wishes,

Mark

Dry,

This is a great extension which I’ve used successfully. However, there’s one thing in the Pings tab that drives me insane, when you click the Select all pings choice it shows this text:

Select all weblogs. If you choose this setting then even if you create new weblogs the Groups tab will be available. This setting will override the individual selections below.

I know that’s not how it’s supposed to work, so I did a bit of digging through the PHP and no luck on where to edit and there’s no specific message echo for select all in the Publish tab. sighs What to do?

Hi Bobby,

This seems like a problem with the language file. I’ll investigate it.

Hi Bobby,

I’ve updated the extension to fix this issue. Please download the version 1.0.3 zip from our site.

Hi Dry, This seems exactly what I was a looking for. One question: is there any experience with combining it with the Multiple Site Manager MSM? I would like to use it for site 1, and would like to avoid that site 2 is harmed. Erwin

Hi Erwin,

I’m afraid I’ve not tested it with the MSM and I suspect that it might not work correctly since I made no provision for site number checking. I’ll add this to my list of things to do!

Cheers
