I really like this add on and am wondering if it will be updated to be compatible with EE2.0 when that is released.

I don’t have any dev copy of EE 2.0, so probably yes…

I’ve uploaded EditArea and the extension files, but when I go to edit the settings and click submit I get the following error.

Notice: Undefined variable: LANG in /home/myaccount/public_html/system/extensions/ext.cm_template_editor.php on line 156

Any ideas?

Great editor, using it for lots of EE template editing. Thanks.

This is a great addon, thanks! I just installed.

I’m wondering why/how we can edit using ajax? I want to be able to use my computers built in undo/redo & not have the page reset each time (going to top of template).

Does anyone know if this is currently possible somewhere, or in plans for future addon?

I couldn’t actually get this extension to work, but realised you have to upload the entire edit_area folder downloaded from cdolivet.net.

The instructions state: 1. Download EditArea script from their site ( http://www.cdolivet.net/index.php?page=editArea ); 2. Upload EditArea script everywhere [edit: anywhere] on your server;

And in the settings you only target the edit_area_full.js, but you do need the entire folder and subfolders to be uploaded onto your server.

Not exactly sure, but I think this is not working with 1.6.8. I have it installed on some other EE installations that are 1.6.7, but cannot get it work at all with 1.6.8. Installs fine and doesn’t break anything, just doesn’t show up on the textarea in the templates.

It’s a shame, but I can’t get this to work either. Editing templates in EE is less than fun so I was excited about getting this up. All I get is a syntax error from en.js; the template page otherwise renders as normal, with no sign of a WYSIWYG editor.

I got it working in the end, and it was pretty useful, but the slow down every time you opened the template editor annoyed me so much I turned it off. I’m running EE 1.6.8 on this build, and doubt that the updates to 1.6.9 would have effected it.

Why I think about it there is also a FireFox plugin that can open any textarea field in your chosen text editor, then when you save, it automagically updates the textarea. I’m sure a quick Google search could find it…

I have been using the Save Templates as Files option and using my own editor, Coda. It’s been working perfectly for me, I love it.
