HTML formatting buttons in comments??

Disclaimer: I just had back surgery and I’m full of pain meds so my brain is like mush.

I just realized that the formatting buttons for comments are not working. I see that others have had the same problem and you recommend downloading the plugin again. I’ve done that and it is sitting in my EE download folder, but because I’m having trouble thinking straight, I’m afraid to go any further. I’m using 1.52 and have held off upgrading for the same reason.

Could you tell me exactly what steps I need to take now to get those formatting buttons working again? I’m concerned because the plugin seems to have a date of 2005, so I want to make sure I am actually fixing something. And I sure hope I’m making sense.

My problem is the buttons are displaying as they should but clicking on them does nothing.
