What is the "field_ta_rows" column for?

Finally, an easy question! I’m developing an extension and was wondering what that particular field is for in exp_weblog_fields (field_ta_rows)?
Also, I searched the forums and guide first without any luck… Is there a place to find such info?

the ‘ta’ is short for textarea, and it stores the number of rows that the user has set the custom textarea field to show in the form.
