Remove ellipses from char_limit plug-in output?

I’ve trying to truncate some output and using the char_limit to do so, but I don’t want the ellipses (…) that the plug-in inserts after the truncated text. I just want the truncated text.

Any way - with this plugin or using another method - to do this?
