You mean, have them start from 1 again?

Yes, but it’s a bit of a headache which involves porting the existing categories into a temporary table, truncating the existing table, re-inserting them from the temp table all the while updating the category posts table with the renewed category id’s.

If you are familiar with mysql it’s shouldn’t be too much of a problem. If not, perhaps try contacting someone from the professionals network.
