I am in the process of completing a new e-commerce module for EE. It integrates foxycart for payment processing.

I have the proof of concept working on a demo site now at http://coolclimate.ca/index.php/site/products/cool_commerce/

I have the front end working and the database side working pretty well. I am just starting on building the admin interface.

I should have a test version available in a few weeks, if anyone is interested in testing it, please let me know. -kevin

Hi Kevin, I would be very interested in this module, have just started looking into EE commerce and foxycart looks like a very nice solution. I’ve briefly looked at a few as simple commerce just seems too clunky.

I’m fairly new to EE but would be interested in testing this module. drop me an email at theboyjim —- at —- hotmaildotcom.

keep up the good work

Hiya,

Will this module work with say IPN calls from PayPal in the same way that EEs SCM module does at the moment?

Best wishes,

Mark

FoxyCart does their own ‘ipn’ call after an order has been taken (agnostic of the payment processor) Right now the module receives that datafeed and parses it into a EE database table. I have an control panel UI that can view these orders.

Should have a downloadable beta shortly.

So this will work with IPN calls then?

Sounds fantastic. Would love to be able to get a look at the beta when it is ready if that is possible?

Thanks.

Best wishes,

Mark

Hi Kevin,

Was just wondering again whether or not this will allow the items to be added to the FoxyCart cart and then when you have completed payment the silent call back to index.php will be made as per the Simple Commerce Module?

Would really need this as I would need a way of telling if a user had purchased an item or not before allowing them to download it. All downloads would be handled by myself using a download script that I have.

Thanks.

Best wishes,

Mark

Ooh also should the link in your last post be :

http://coolclimate.ca/products/cool_commerce instead of http://coolcommerce.ca?

The latter address doesn’t seem to be going anywhere at the moment?

Best wishes,

Mark

Hi Mark,

Yes, similar to Paypal’s IPN, when an order is “checked-out” and payment in processed, FoxyCart sends a silent xml post to the CoolCommerce module, once received the order is added to the CoolCommerce.

In the Order Management area you can enter shipping notes/waybill details and change the status from not shipped to shipped.

I still need to document more details of the functionality but, there are a few control panel screen snapshots at coolclimate.ca -k

Would your new module allow differing payments ? … like, i’d like to grant a delay before charging clients credit cards….

yes, there is an option to accept credit cards w/o charging. you can then use a your credit card processor’s online administration tool to charge the $$ when you are ready.

  1. Does it currently work to provide paid memberships to sites? So that a purchase updates a users member group in EE (like Simple Commerce currently does)?
  2. Does it also integrate with foxycart’s recurring payments, so that at the end of a 1 month subscription or cancellation of payment the group is changed to a different member group?

I think there has yet to be a real comprehensive paid membership solution for EE. One that takes into account actual real world situations… so things like free trials, recurring membership fees, cancellation of memberships, etc.

the short answer is yes. the longer answer is that free trials, foxycart recurring payments, cancellations etc are planned in 1.0 also, what happens when a subscription is purchased, renewed or cancelled is a little more open. a subscription will be mapped to a set of actions the first one being add/remove member from a group. Other possible actions may exist in 1.0 depending on timing.
