For surveys, I use limesurvey (formerly phpsurveyor) a lot - it isn’t ee integrated, but it is in php, is open source, is hosted on your own server, and is very flexible, with an active user group.

Thanks lesmckeown,

I’ll take a look at that. Nothing beats something built in though. Clients like only having one place to go.

I agree entirely, Jamie - if/when there is such a module available, I’d be first in line…

So I guess a survey module could be used as online training exams too?

I have quoted on a project that includes online training and a multi page exam using EE so I guess a survey module could be used/modified for this purpose?

PS. Leevi, have you considered getting your polling module certified by EllisLab?

PS. Leevi, have you considered getting your polling module certified by EllisLab?

Lg TinyMCE and LG Add Sitename where added to the official repository, not quite certification but I learnt a lot from the process.

I’m not too worried about certification for this module as I have a completely unsubstantiated feeling that EE 2.0 is around the corner. It is something I will be looking into when EE 2.0 comes out. No doubt there will be a few things that need to be updated in this module.

There was a couple of other points about costing for this module. Its hard without using it so I have updated the documentation with a whole bunch of info about how to submit polls using ajax and SCREENSHOTS!!!

For those who wanted to be beta testers I will be contacting some of you with a download later today.

Cheers

Nice screens! I’ll say it again - your docs are fantastic. Someone can REALLY make an informed decision whether or not to buy any of your items, based on all that information you provide.

Yep I believe you really need good documentation to charge for software. It is the number one difference.

Hey guys…

Just a quick note to say sorry to all the people who wanted beta testers.

I still haven’t had time to send out the download because I was implementing PIE CHARTS!!!!

I’ll try to send out the download tomorrow morning.

Leevi:

Your polling module looks pretty nice. But, I agree with some of the other comments…a SURVEY module for EE would really rock my world. One of my clients heavily uses Survey Monkey and it works okay, but if we could do all their surveys in EE, that would be much, much better.

Out of curiosity, what are you using to build the charts/graphs? I’ve got a project where I’m going to be doing a lot of charting/graphic of data and yours look nice. I was considering swfcharts but haven’t really messed around with any of them - I’m a bit hesitant to use flash unless I have to though for accessibility reasons.

Good old Victor is on the ball… again. I am using google charts for the pie chart and old fashioned css for the bar charts.

I wouldn’t recommend google charts just yet. They are still pretty limited and the urls can be a pain in the bum to construct.

There is also Open Flash Chart http://teethgrinder.co.uk/open-flash-chart/ which looks ok. The next version of Polls will probably incorporate this.

Cheers

P.S as for a survey module I think it will be a lot of work but I’m looking into it.
