placing javascript tag into head

how can one place a script tag into the <head> section of the CP. closest I can find is $DSP->body_props, which put it just after the <body> tag. couldnt find anything in the module development section.
Im trying to chain a few dropdowns with a nice script I found.

If you add code to:
$DSP->extra_headerIt will be inserted into the CP head just before the closing </head> tag.
