Hout's checkboxes and weblog:entries search tag

I’m tyring to limit entries displayed on a page by searching a custom field with the new search:field_name= parameter. The field I’m searching uses Mark Hout’s checkboxes extension.

So far, no good. It returns every available entry and does not limit at all.

Docs say:

NOTE: Only custom fields of the type “Text Input”, “Textarea”, and “Drop-down Lists” are searched with this parameter.

Yet Checkboxes is “like” drop-down lists.

Does this function play nice with the extension? Would it play nice with Hout’s custom field limiter extension?

Or did I maybe just screw up the function call?

Okay, the problem appears to be that I was using the search:field_name= in a reverse_related_entries tag, which obviously does not work. Which means I’m totally screwed.

The search parameter scans the custom field fine in a typical weblog tag.

So, nevermind.

Hey oldgoldblack, did this actually work with the extension, or did you give up because of the related entries tag?

It’s been a few days, but if I remember correctly, both the extension and the search function actually worked fine outside related entries tag in my testing. Though I did not thoroughly flesh that out.
