Problem With: Pages Nested Menu

Development and Programming

This plugin is exactly what I need but when I include the exp:pages_nested_menu tag in my template, it never renders anything. As soon as I remove the tag, the rest of the page renders content fine.

Any ideas? I have double-checked the syntax and everything looks good.

Actually… I just realized that what I wrote might not be clear. If I include the pages_nested_menu tag, the entire template never renders. The page is blank. When I remove it, all is well. No error messages even with debugging enabled.

I just noticed that Mark Huot’s pages_crumbs plugin doesn’t work either. In this instance, it just doesn’t output anything from that tag. It doesn’t break the entire page like the navigation module.

This is really frustrating as I really need this functionality. Any ideas?

I’ve checked and if I remove the nested pages tag, the page works fine. It appears the problem is with the nested pages plugin.

Any other ideas? This is killing me. I’d like to not have to write my own but I really need a way to render nested left navigation for pages.

did you ever get this sorted out? I’ve also just run into this issue…

The root issue was due to the server running out of PHP memory. Increasing the PHP Memory Limit solves the issue. We also greatly enhanced that plugin with our own customizations and optimizations… but that was after bumping the memory limit to get past the “blank page” issue.
