The next thing I will do is add some kind of caching so the admin doesn’t check for updates everytime.

Let me know if you are going to use this technique and I’ll add the required $LANG->line code so our list titles will always be the same no matter which updates are available. Honestly I’m surprised no one has added this simple piece of code to their extensions before. 😊

I would be interested in using this technique for my humble little extensions (I think SOME people still use my version of Add Sitename even though yours is bigger and badder).

I too am surprised no one has added it, but that’s what you’re here for. Are you The One? :coolsmile:

Leevi - also, who can see the update box on the CP homepage? Super Admins? Everyone?

Only super admins… and it can be turned off using the extension settings or the global check for updates settings

Installing 1.0.3 results in this:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_RETURN, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or 
T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /home/.../.../system/extensions/ext.lg_mf_customiser.php on line 377

Any idea about that one? Missing a ‘}’ or something?
