I knew there was an alternative to Timesince! I’m glad I found this.. I do have a feature request though.

Can I have this plugin only to apply to articles within a certain time period? For example, I want articles that were posted in the last 24 hours to say “Posted 10 hours ago” for example. When it is past 24 years, the date goes back as usual to something like “April 22, 2009”.

If anybody DOES know how to do this already, or know of a plugin that can be of service to fulfill the inquiry, please do let me know. If not, I would LOVE if this plugin could do something like that. =)

Cheers!

Hmm, I’ll consider that suggestion when I visit this plugin next. It’s not on my radar until EE 2.0 releases though.

As far as doing it right now, you could use some basic PHP to do the conditional logic for you.

Nope. Though anyone is free to edit it if they wish. I’ll put it up on Github when in 2.0-ify it.

I really have an idea, how you can improve this great plugin. Make it international. I (and I think some others also) cannot use it, because its output is English.

Days, Minutes and so on …

In EE you can change the date output in other languages. So how about something like

{entry_date format=' %d.%n.%Y'} inside the plugin? So everyone can choose his language? Would this be possible?

Kindly

Frankxx,

The plugin comes with language files that you can use to localize those words. I’ve only included an English version, but you’re free to create your own language files from that template.

On my community site, if I post to the blog or post in the forums, the time is correct.

However, using this plugin always adds 1 hour to the time elapsed.

Why would that be?

My best guess is that it’s related to server offsets. If you use the date variable outside the plugin tag, does it work properly?

Is it possible to output a three unit string?

2 Days, 4 Hours, 11 Minutes

Maybe even four unit strings?

303 Days, 4 Months, 9 Day, 2 Hours

OR The grand master six units?

2 Years, 153 Days, 8 Months, 23 Days, 18 Hours, 44 Minutes

Could you make an optional parameter for the unit number? Default to 2 but allow for more
