Dear all–
I poked around in the forums and plugins directory a bit prior posting, and it seems there is no solid KARMA system yet developed for EE.
Karma system is just a user submitted score for individual objects within EE that helps increase the community factor. For instance, registered members are eligible to give “pluses” for posts, comments and other members.
The system would be similar with today’s popular social bookmarking sites where users can “upvote” or “downvote” comments (posts - members).
Examples: a downvoted comment (with a set threshold of course) would be collapsed, so the community could decide which comment didn’t contribute value to the thread. This is much more better way of moderation than, say, deleting a comment centrally.
Basically a karma system would only be just a way of assigning PLUS or MINUS to a set of objects within the framework. Some template tags on top of it, and there you go. You can list the top users of a community, the best comment posts and so on.
Hi, did you heard about Solspace’s Rating module, or Gadgets EE entry rating module? I hope it’s the system that are you looking for.
