I’m using Playa 1.3.3 and URL Field 1.0.5. Reordering doesn’t seem to affect it. What’s interesting though, is if I change the field to a Playa field, only the word Playa shows. I did disable Playa though to test, and that didn’t fix it. AND if I delete a field, the doubled-field-named field types change to only MD MarkitUp. BUT if I resave a field (a new field only) the double-named-field types all come back. Weird, weird, weird.
OK, I need to download 1.0.5 to test with that. So, we have determined that when they double up, everyone gets confused and we have no idea what’s going on. Great! 😊
I’m thinking this is a harmless (although confusing, for sure) bug that I have to try and replicate…and then solve. I feel it has something to do with how custom fields are supposed to put themselves in that list with a preg_match.
I wish I could “screw mine up” so I could start effectively testing.
Kyle, how comfortable are you in just updating a single area of the extension? I redid the part where the name of the extension is added to the field list. Seeing as I can’t replicate the issue here, I’m sort of working blind. I feel like that area is cleaner, but I can’t tell if it helps the situation for sure.

You mean edit some code in the file? Bring it on. I can give you access to my site too, if that’ll help. It’s on my own site which is really just a testing ground right now until I have enough downtime to get it together so there isn’t much to damage.
Kyle, I just logged in, updated the part of MDMIU I thought was the issue, and that seemed to solve the problem (see attached shot). I’ll update the main download for MDMIU with this update. Let me know if the issue returns.
I just took a look and switched some filed types and it looks like it’s working fine now.
Thanks!
I just purchased the license and installed it, and so far I’m loving it!
One hiccup: my clients copy and paste most of their content from Word (sigh). It’s fine using Markitup, as at least I avoid that horrible MSoNormal class stuff. However, their content is formatted in Word using single line breaks. Is there any way I can program Markitup to automatically convert
<br>
tags into
tags?
Thanks! Looking forward to trying this with MCImageManager!
Did you mean
into
tags?
I’ve seen an extension called Wordc Cleaner that converts a lot of weird characters. The description is:
Takes content pasted in from Microsoft Word and removes autoformatting (curly quotes and such) that Word puts in for these symbols: ëí ìî ó ñ ï Ö ô Æ © .
Now, that doesn’t mean it will convert what you need. That extension could probably be modified - but you may not want it working the break => paragraph conversion on ever field.
Another possibility would be to make a custom MDMIU button (which is real easy to do) that works like the existing HTML entity conversion button and looks only for Word’s single lines and replaces them with something.
Are the fields you’re using MDMIU on typically formatted as XHTML, or None, or Textile, or Markdown? Or is it a mix?
All of my markitup fields are XHTML.
That “HTML entity conversion button” sounds promising! Could you perhaps point me in the right direction as to how to accomplish that? (I can handle adding additional buttons for things like headers and div wraps, but this sounds a bit more complicated)
I’m looking forward to some more articles on the subject soon from devot-ee, but it’s crunch time for me (as in, the website is due today). Yikes!
I’m experiencing a problem now with the integration of MCImageManager. Here’s the post: http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/105138/
Thought I would post it here too in case anyone on this board has any ideas that might help me with this problem (or the br tag problem above). It would be much appreciated!
Thanks so much for all of your support!
The MCImageManager support and forum are pretty helpful. I know I had that same problem and found the solution here (although I can’t remember exactly what it was except it was a config.php issue).
