Gallery categories sub cats

I am trying to change the code output by the following tag pair in the gallery module. At the moment a sub category is indented by multiple non breaking spaces which Firefox seems to ignore. Therefore I would like to insert some css. Anyone know where I might find the relevant code?

{subcat_marker}/images/marker.gif{/subcat_marker}
