Hi,
Just an update on our Cool Commercing (sorry it hasn’t been earlier but for some reason I haven’t been getting notified of my subscribed threads, might be a junk mail thing). Turns out the version that was released was in really early development. We’ve made a bunch of fixes but we are not quite ready for a live site.
One thing I need however, is to get it touch with the guys who made Cool Commerce. I don’t think it would be right to release modified code out in the wild based on a ton of work by the guys who originally did Cool Commerce.
If anyone has been in contact with them let me know.
Mal’s E-Commerce is great, i’ve used it for clients for years. It’s really flexible as far as generating the code for items including complicated options, etc. You can integrate it into EE templates with no trouble at all.
grantmx, it’s only the free version that’s that limited. The full version (which is all of $8/month or something) supports basically every payment processor under the sun.
I will pay $200 for this module if someone will finish and support it!
We were all setup to buy aMember last night (for a subscription-based Membership site) and then I tripped across CoolCommerce discussions in the EE forums. Checked it out (missed the message about them shutting down) and have been working with it for a couple hours this morning.
So far, the ONLY thing NOT working is that a member’s Group doesn’t get updated after completion of the Foxy Cart checkout. Everything else works great so far. The transaction gets added to CoolCommerce. Everything!
Guess I should also say that the idea of the EE Cron to manage subscription renewals, emails, cancelations, etc. should also be included. Basically, the features that are listed on the CoolCommerce Features page is all it has to do for us.
@slapshotw - Great idea. Thanks for the suggestion.
Actually, we’re looking to launch in less than 2 weeks and since posting my note a few hours ago I’ve already downloaded, installed, configured, and tested aMember. Working on integrating it now. Talked it over with my partner and decided we couldn’t wait. Also, aMember does coupons, Affiliates, etc.
I have posted in this thread which also talks about e-commerce for EE. This may help some of you still looking for a solution.
Mike
