Hey Travis,

Nomolis and I have been working on doing a lot of enhancements to the module to deal with depth. We should be in a place of launching the site next week but we can get you a sneak peak at how we implementing this. Its just hard to explain it without showing it. PM and I will give you the IP address so you can adjust your host records to see it.

Finally the site is up and running, we need to code some little to support custom fields for the titles in the menu, the client need to edit all language versions of the site from one entry form so we got title_es, title_br, title_en.

We change the query to support this, its not complete (dont play with the ee custom field table), but i think that the module can extend more and more if support custom fields some ideas:

Custom Titles Custom CSS Classes or IDs per entry

Additional maybe the module can output the structure tree in other format to support client side javascript something like this type of async tree menu: http://jquery.bassistance.de/treeview/demo/async.html

😊

I’m installing Structure on a new site (1.6.7) and when the extension is uploaded to the system/extensions folder, the Extensions Manager page goes completely blank. Any ideas?

Its seems like a problem with the PHP version, check the “output and debug options” and check “show php errors to super admins”, reload de module page.

If still no error show, go back to debug and chech show to all, or find the apache’s error_log file.

@2techchicks this usually means the correct PHP version isn’t installed. Recheck and PM me if you do have the right version and we can debug further.

Thank you for the quick response! That does appear to be the issue!

Hello

I am trying to set Structure up but having problems. How do set up the group to access Structure? I get this in the module settings…

No permissible groups exist. A group must have these permissions before it will show here.
Can access control panel
Can access publish
Can access edit
Can access Structure

I looked in Edit Member Group and I dont see anywhere you can give access to structure.

thanks!

@Kevin Evans Before you can set these, a member group must have access to the modules tab and specifically the Structure module under Admin » Members & Groups » Member Groups » Edit Member Group. Those settings are under the links for Control Panel Area Access & Module Access Privileges.

@Kevin Evans you can’t Super Admins always have access to everything. If you need to give someone lesser privileges you create a new group and assign those settings there. PM if you need more help, let’s keep this out of this thread.

Hello again,

Finally figured it out, thanks!

One more question, I am redoing the site at http://www.rosenblumnewfield.com/directory.html and that page is a attorney section. I am thinking I should use that section as a listing page in Structure….but I read somewhere that you cant have listing entries in the nav? I would need to have the attorneys entry pages listed in the nav as a dropdown.

thanks!

Hello everyone,

I have a few STRUCTURE questions/issues.

1) I am trying to re-order pages from Modules>Structure tab. I am able to select the page and drag it, but I am unable to release it once I have selected it. A red * appears and stays visible to the right of the title, not sure what that indicates.

2) I am trying to use filters in my news listings page; since I have to set dynamic=”off”, I enabled PHP(input) and use $IN to parse a variable within my URL (?cat=). This works, unless I have multiple pages. Pagination uses (?page=), I think this may be creating a conflict. I get unpredictable results when paging through the news items.

3) Is there a way to limit the what is displayed within the Template drop down list in the Structure tab (within Publish/Edit). I want to minimize the possibility of a content contributor selecting the wrong template a generate bad pages.

I think that is it for now! Thanks!

Jorge

@Kevin Evans they would need to be PAGES, not a listing to show up in the dropdown through the nav_sub tag. I would make a few test pages and experiment a bit to familiarize yourself with how the tags work.

@Jorge Molina check your PMs

Hey Everyone,

I am implementing sub_nav on a client site and using start_from with {segment_1} which is working great.

However I would like it to render all navigation items and their children… a sort of sitemap start_from functionality.

This way I can use some fancy javascript to create a expandable/collapsable child navigation.

Any help in creating this functionality is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
