@collinbird I was wondering if that was what it was, but i didn’t seem to get any other errors. I’ll give it a look.
As for the nav_main, i almost have that locked down. I’m working on a parameter update so i can pass a desired root uri. Can you tell me what your “shortcuts” link did exactly? It sounds like it might be similar.
Also looking forward to a fully featured Structure!
i wanted to have some nav links work without structure interfering.. my client wanted a link on the nav, but wanted it pointing to some other page on the site.
this is common, i think, having two (or more) items in different parts of the nav, pointing to the same page. anyway, I added a short-cut field in the DB and in the structure tab under strucutre URI. Then i modified nav_main to use that shortcut if it exists, and completely ignore the uri. not super pretty, but solved my problem.
can you post your fixed version of nav_main when it’s done?
thanks!
It looks like i’m going to have to abandon Structure for this project. I have too many exceptions to make it worth my time. I can’t control the output of the navigation with any parameters, without first hacking those controls into the module.
Hopefully i’ll be able to return to this module in the future, but for now – back to the Pages – Nested Menu plugin by Mark Huot.
Okay out of desperation i’m trying one last time – now with the Structure Children plugin. I can’t seem to get the jquery for control panel to work though – do i need to set jquery UI to anything?
EDIT: Got it. I had the server path, it needed the absolute path. Back in business. We’ll see how this goes.
@colinbird something to help with pages that link to other section, but don’t actually live under a certain area is in the works for the next major version. Not sure when though.
@Jack something is very wrong with your install if that’s happening. Do you know what steps you took before that happened?
I think it happened when i was playing with reordering top level navigation. Is that a possible side effect of the aforementioned “don’t mess with top level nav”?
Side note, i now have modified the Structure Children plugin to take a new case, “li” to strip out the <ul> tags to let me add in other hard-coded items, as well as modify the “nav_main” function posted earlier to only show “open” status pages to allow for a split navigation hierarchy. Both good ideas for future release!
No other modules are installed. I renamed a previous entry, “home” to “/”, could that have done it? I wiped all the entries and created new ones and they’re all fine.
I would like to figure out what caused it though before i turn the site over to my client. I’m close to a full build using Structure, which is great because this afternoon I almost bailed.
