LG Member List field in SAEF

I have an LG Member List field in a standalone entry form. While the other fields are fine, the value for the LG Member List field doesn’t get saved.

I’m guessing that this is because fields have to be of a certain type for the SAEF to write them to the db? How to add LG Member List to this list?

Hey Adam,

LG Member List is not SAEF compatible. I’m not sure how much work it would take to add this functionality but its not on the development roadmap at the moment.

Cheers

Thanks for the quick response, Leevi.

The reason I wanted it is because I have a site where members are integral parts of the site’s content, so instead of custom fields there’s a persons weblog, and registering is a two-part process, 1) email/password then 2) actually posting a persons entry themselves about themselves, with the LG Member List field doing the hook-up.

(This by way of trying to persuade you to put the feature on the roadmap…)

Vital extension, btw – I hope EE2 has something to better integrate members with weblogs.

If you just wanted a drop down list of members you could probably achieve this with a custom sql query using the query module.

But I want to post it into the Member List field.

Leevi, do you mean to just not use the extension and simply use a regular field or a pulldown instead?

Update: Never mind, I realize that by having each member use the SAEF to be the author of their corresponding entry in the Persons weblog, that’s a sufficient hook.

LG MemberList is not SAEF compatible so on the front end you will need to use a custom query and a select list. In the admin you can still use the extension.
