Hi everyone,

I have had a good search around, but so far not found what I am looking for.

I just wondered if there was an extension out there that would allow me to show a column on the Edit screen that displays the category that each entry is in. It shows the weblog, but not the category. It would be good to be able to see at a glance what category a particular enty is in.

Just wondered if it were possible. Look forward to a reply. Thanks.

Does such an extension exist?

Hi Richard,

I don’t know of one that does that specifically but there is an extension called MD Show Expired which allows you to show if the post has expired or not. You might be able to see how that one is made and change it to show the category instead?

I’d be wary though because if you have a post assigned to more than one category, say around 20 then you may have a messy looking Control Panel with all that information in there 😉

Hope that helps though.

Best wishes,

Mark

Hi Mark,

Thats a good point re: number of categories. Hadn’t considered that! I actually use MD Show Expired and its great. I’ve never considered taking steps towards creating my own extension though. Maybe something for the future.
