Having a strange problem with the Deny Hotlink parameter. It’s set to ‘on’ but in the DB, they’re all set to ‘0’.

A quick look at the mod.linklocker.php file shows:

if (!$this->deny_hotlink = strtolower($TMPL->fetch_param('allow_hotlink')))
        {
            $this->deny_hotlink = 0;
        } else {
            $this->deny_hotlink = 1;
        }

Shouldn’t the param be named “deny_hotlink” rather than “allow_hotlink”? I don’t see allow_hotlink anywhere else in the module code.

Tx!

Ira

Ira,

You’re exactly right - the param is “deny_hotlink”. Darn typos! I’ll fix it in the next release, but if you want to change that line to read “deny_hotlink” instead of “allow_hotlink”, it will fix the problem. Thanks for pointing it out!

I’m really not in the mood to read this entire thread (although I probably will anyway after I post this…), and don’t see it in the first post: what exactly is the most current version of this module? Is there a webpage for this module somewhere or is everything in this thread? I have 2.4.1 from a long time ago - will an upgrade cost me extra? Was this the add on that was going to have encrypted code in the control panel?

Hey Ryan,

Current version is 2.5. Will send you the updated files - no charge.

Thanks, Brad

Thanks, Brad. I’m not the biggest fan of the distribution model (if you need assistance putting a 1-page site together, let me know) but this release looks pretty tight. Looking forward to giving it a whirl. And to repeat for anyone who is curious, as of this writing (Aug 2, 2009), the latest version of Linklocker is 2.5!

This looks perfect for what I need on a few sites. Once I sort out a time slot to try this out, I will purchase a copy. Have to agree with Ryan on the distribution method.

Thanks.

Hey Brad.

Will this module work for my needs?

I built a website for a small band. They want to sell three albums on their site for $5 each. I set up Simple Commerce to handle the payments, but how can I send them a link to the .zip of the ablum after purchase is complete?

Thanks!

This module can be used to display encrypted links to downloads, following their purchase. It will not email a link to them, though I suppose you could set it up so that you manually could email them an encrypted link upon purchase. The module does work with my “yet to be released” Digital Commerce module, which will email download links upon posting of payment from Paypal, but that’s a different can of worms. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Thanks, Brad

@Brad - I have a license for the commercial version - how can I be sure that I have the latest version? I currently have 2.4.2.

@Josh: To purchase the module, please PM me and I will send you details. The module is licensed at $30 USD per site.

@JohnD: Please send me a PM with the URL of the site that is using the module, and I’ll forward the newest version. I’m hoping to add functionality in the version for EE2.0 that will allow the module to “auto-update”, or at least notify when a new update is available.

I guess this is only possible to get via paypal or so? I might be interested to give it a testdrive in my personal site but what i understand you have some not-so-common way to handle moneypart here?

Petri,

Payment is made via Paypal. Until I get around to setting up a site to facilitate purchases, I can PM you with Paypal email account, then email you the module, stats plugin, & docs.

Thanks, Brad

Brad, quick question if I may. Does this come with the functionality to send an email notification to admin whenever a file is downloaded?
