Yurrua is right. Check CP Home › Admin › System Preferences › General Configuration › URL to the root directory of your site for that missing slash.

I released Simple Tags 1.6.3 today containing two little enhancements.

• When using the autosuggest feature, hitting enter after selecting a sugested tag will no longer trigger the “Preview”-Button in the publish form. • Simple Tags can now use WP-Cumulus to display a fancy flash tagclound. Here’s an example.

Simple Tags 1.6.5 has been released.

Changelog:

• New feature: Added {exp:simpletag:tags} as a means to generically output tags and their popularity. This can be used to create your own clouds, lists, graphs or whatever you may conceive to display popular tags. • Bugfix: The parameter trans=“true” in {exp:simpletag:cumulus} was not working as expected. • Bugfix: When using multiple custom fields as tag-fields in one weblog only the tags from the last fields were counted. • Bugfix / Feature: Closed entries were not ignored prior to Simple Tags 1.6.5

Has anyone gotten this error on the Extension settings screen for Simple Tags? I just downloaded and installed it.

“Please copy the folder “ext_simple_tags” and its contents from the “extensions”-directory into the “themes”-directory of your ExpressionEngine installation.”

This happens if the installation routine was not able to copy the copy the folder automatically. Probably due to unsufficient permissions. The message will only go away if you manually copy the folder as instructed.

Nice one, i will try it out. I find it pretty strange that EE doesn’t come with a more powerful tag module natively. One could expect such a thing in a modern blog software. And paying $40 just to have one is out of order(sorry Solspace). Thanks!

Hey - just implementing Simple Tags and it’s working great, however EE’s search is not picking up any tags. I have the field set to searchable and can’t think what else might be the issue. The Tagcloud and other features are all working perfectly…

Any suggestions would be much appreciated

cheers

J

That issue must be isolated from Simple Tags, as it has absolutely no bearing in the search functionality of EE.

Simple Tags uses a field I designated for Gypsy, and the auto suggest feature is not spanning cross-weblogs.

For example, if I have the tags “fashion, t-shirt” in the tag Gypsy field in Weblog #1 already, and then I re-enter these tags in the publishing page for Weblog #2, there is no auto-suggestion. However, I have confirmed that auto-suggestion does work when I apply the same tags to its origin weblog.

This is probably not even Gypsy-related. The auto-suggestion does by by default not work across weblogs.

Oliver,

Thanks for the heads up! I had no idea. Is there a particular reason for implementing it that way? Just curious! I’m trying to get my head into it, and I see some valid reasons for making it work across weblogs and also otherwise.

Your thoughts appreciated.

Well the reason is that all or some weblogs might be totally unrelated. Even more in a multiple site installation.

What it would take would be an advanced setting where you can group weblogs together for autosuggestion.

Oliver, do you have any plans in the near future on adding this functionality? Would love to know! Great add-on BTW - I’m really edging to jump on this!

It hasn’t been requested yet, but it would make sense.

I just Installed Simple Tags 1.7.2 and configured it to use one field in one weblog. All seems to work except the auto-suggest feature is misbehaving.

When anything is typed in the tags field, it suggests “Invalid URI” as a tag. When a comma is typedafter a tag, the auto-suggest replaces the tag text with “Invalid URI”.

Any ideas about what is happening?

  • The tag field type is -text input- and formating is set to -none-
  • I’ve removed and reinstalled the module and extention
  • The ext_simple_tags folder was copied to the themes folder. -The exp_sz_simple_tags table exists and is poplulated with all the tags (created w/ auto-suggest off )
  • I’m removing index.php w/ mod_rewrite

I’m on EE 1.6.8 running on my dev server (MAMP 1.7.2)

Thanks!
