Form module with validation results on same page as the form?

Hi,

is it possible to write a form module with the core feature to show the validation results on the same template/site as the form?

I don’t like the “return to …” way of the EE email module.

I’m wondering whether this is generally possible with ExpressionEngine as ‘host system’.
