Embeds in Discussion Module? Possible?

Hello -

I know that by ‘default’ embeds are not allowed in the discussion forum module. But the phrase ‘by default’ implies there might be a way? I wanted to use an embed for a page header, footer, and a menu.

Is it possible to put embeds in the discussion forum? If so, how? and if so can it be MSM aware?
