Image Resizing not Working

Help! I’ve just installed EE 1.6.6 on a new production server for a client site, but Image Resizing just won’t work.

I’m using the File extension by Mark Huot (3.1.1.) as part of the publish interface in the Control panel to upload images, so no upload from the front of the site. GD2 is installed and running on the server: I can see this is ok from the EE wizard.php, and from PHP info under the Admin tab.

I’ve checked all the server paths and they seem correct. The upload directory is properly assigned, and permissions set to 777.

The thing is, I can upload an image file to the server via the Publish interface (using File extension): the file itself goes up fine, but no thumbnail is generated.

Anyone have any clues? I’m baffled because it work fine before on the testing server. I can give you the login detail if you want to poke around. 😊

nik_fox, when it worked before, which version/build of EE were you on?

Sue,

Previous was 1.6.3 core version. New install is 1.6.6 commercial licence, and is running on a new server (not the same server as the test site EE install). I can send logins to both if you like.

nik_fox, the problem is that you’re using a third party offering. We don’t offer support in those cases. You may need to contact the author for support.

In the mean time, since it does involve a third party offering, I’m going to move it to the Extensions forum for additional community involvement.

Okay, but is there any way to determine if Image Resizing is working or not, outside of using any third party extension? Can I do something with the simple ‘File Upload’ button/panel to and a test template to try this?
