I am having a similar problem (posted to bug forum (http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/101636/), then found this. Cannot leave comments on my site, get an error page:

Error The following tag has a syntax error: {exp:comment:entries} Please correct the syntax in your template.

I looked into disabling extensions, but there’s no disabling, only deleting. If I delete I’ll lose tons of related data. Any other suggestions?

I have already removed Edit Comments and Comment HTML Formatting Buttons to no avail, still have these extensions:

EE Gravatar (v.1.4)

Magpie RSS Parser (v.1.3.4)

Word Limiter (v.1.0)

Character Limiter (v.1.0)

Amazon API (v.1.2 - 5/29/2004)

HTML Stripper (v.1.0.1)

Word Limiter Plus (v.1.0)

XML Encode (v.1.2)

It’s your Birthday (v.1.0)

Technorati (v.1.0)

Amazon ECS PHP5 (v.1.0 10/15/2004)

Randomizer (v.1.0)

Extract URL (v.1.0)

Update: Whoops, now getting error:

The following tag has a syntax error: {exp:edit_comments:javascript} Please correct the syntax in your template.

Not ready to start dismantling my templates to test all this out… putting the comment one back in.

Fixed this! The comment module was damaged. First I replaced it via FTP, and nothing changed. Then I replaced the comment module via the file manager instead of FTP, et voila! It works!

Well, it is still not solved, because I need the Multi relationship also on, but I suppose I need to read all the posts related to this Extension. Maybe it would be useful to keep it open so I can post a solution for others to see, if I ever find one.

Thanks

Ok, we’ll keep it open for a bit.

Alternatively you could start a thread in the extension support forum and we can link to that. It might give you some community feedback that you don’t get up here.

Edit: Decided to just move the whole thread.
