This is an implementation of Christophe Dolivet EditArea into Expression Engine’s template editor.
This extension ads source code highlighting and extends the editing capabilities of EE’s template editor.

Requirements: Christophe Dolivet EditArea (This extension ships with EditArea 0.7.2.3.)
Installation:
Open the downloaded archive. Copy bk_template_editor/scripts/edit_area to your EE installation directory (default is /scripts/edit_area). Copy bk_template_editor/system/extensions/ext.bk_template_editor.php to your extensions directory. Copy bk_template_editor/system/language/english/lang.bk_template_editor.php to your language directory.
Enable the extension via the EE extension manager. Open the extension’s settings page and edit accordingly.
Update:
Backup settings and disable the extension if you already have it. Replace all files with the new ones. Reactivate the extension. For EditArea Updates visit: cdolivet.net
Change Log: v1.1 download : Added new settings for inputting custom javascript and buttons. Default buttons: Readonly/Editable, insert {embed}, insert {weblog}. v1.0 download : basic implementation of EditArea

oh no! you had done it before me. I looked in the extensions for it and couldn’t find it. So i threw this together. It works for me what is it that I am missing?
I intended to add the Syntax Drop Down, but now I am not gonna bother anymore. I’m just going to check your extension out. I wish I had found it before so I wouldn’t spend a few hours on it yesterday.
