Ahhh… I understand now. I didn’t have a restriction of size, but was wanting the ability to resize after the upload.

I deliberately chose not to add too much image manipulation options to this module. I think that belongs to the Gallery module instead… (although I just found this schnazzy php class to read/write exif data from jpgs and am tempted to do something with that)

Anyhoo, no actual problems then? 😊

No actual problems. I’m just used to the Flickr uploader that allows you to pick a smaller size dynamically if the image is big.

EXIF data would be cool. 😊

If I ever get enough free time, I might consider fabricating some sort of EXIF-plugin…

Just remember that unless you include all the classes, most people don’t have exif compiled into their php.

This is very cool. Thank you, Lodewijk. I’ve been thinking about tackling a file manager module myself (as a project. I’m a pure beginner) and then I find one has already been done.

Current version is 1.1.1, compatible with EE 1.3.

Works just fine with 1.3.

It’ll work with one of my FTP phobic clients who doesn’t have the ability to edit his pictures. At least they’ll be resized to a certain extent.

Current version is 1.2. Changes made, features added:

  • Image resize preferences are now fetched from System Preferences -> Image Resizing Preferences.
  • Create a server path specified in an Upload Destination if that path doesn’t exist on the server.
  • Delete a server path specified in an Upload Destination if that path (i.e. directory) is empty.
  • Upload Destinations can only be used by users who have enough rights. Rights are set under File Upload Preferences.

Current version is 1.2.1. Changes made, features added:

  • Dynamically add or remove file input fields, so there’s no limit to the batch size.
  • Some impovements in the way image dimensions are calculated.

I’ll take a break now. 😉

Lodewijk,

I’ve been trying your site for a couple of days now, to grab the File Manager Module. It appears to be down.

Edit: I’ve been advised (with the required file attached) by PM that the site is accessible by others.

Wow! This is one of the most usefull modules for EE. Excellent work. But I do have one question: is it possible to open files in a new window when you click on the titles?
