i also noticed that sometimes the delete image did not work, not sure why, i havnt retraced my steps on that one, but that was like 1 out of 10 attemps that images were NOT deleted. I do like that fucntion though, simple “delete image” and all of the thumbs/s/m/l images are deleted! very nice

Well i am certainly confused.

This morning I started doing the same tests, with the same entry as I was doing last night, and now when Ig o to edit the entry, the first part of easy galley that shows up is the list images section, as it’s suppose to, where as last night it kept pushing me to gallery settings and not letting me do anything eeven after continously “updating” and “update image settings”.

lol.. so im not sure if im helping or making things more confusing, it’s weird that a few hours can go buy and all of a sudden it’s working again?

perhaps it has to do with cookies or sessions or something

yeah this is weird. everything is working fine, and all it took was an over night break?

Testing it on both IE7 and Firefox.

I jsut realized, sometimes Flash does some hardcore browsing caching. I wonder if that was my problem.

p.s. i thought hitting quick save right after you title your entry would assign the entry id so flash could have an id for the gallery, but that didnt work. i guess you ahve to submit the entry still, then edit it.

And it’s not a flash caching problem, going throgh an editing procss again has landed me on only being able to look at the gallery settings page with no links to list images or upload images, both browers. And then in this instance, hitting update image settings takes me to the list images sectiona nd lets me click on the other links and lets me go where i need to.

oie. Ok, confused myself again. Break time. ahha

(p.s. while i understand i am posting a lot, i hope it doesnt make you feel bad or anything, i just dont mind doing some QA for you incase something pops up you didnt notice. I’m sure most of this you know already. Also I am quite excited about this module so this is somewhat my way of helping out!

It seems if you get stuck, hitting update image settings o whatever page you are on might help fix things and not get you stuck anywhere. after hitting update image settings i was able to change my entry status to open and it actually stayed on open.

(Also please keep in mind that this might actually be how it’s suppose to work, but there is just no official docs yet so some might be confused, incase others are playing with this. good for testing though!)

uploading an image resulted in error #2038

also, there might a programmatic progression here. submit entry, update gallery settings, upload images, update image settings, etc, perhaps this was designed to take you to each screen of easy gallery in a certain order, process.

Hello and thanks for your help. I have to get this workig under PHP Version 5.1.6. Are there any known issues?

It’s not been tested for php 5 I don’t believe, and any issues found have been made in previous posts in this thread, so far.

Hi thanks, I guess what i’m asking is if it is likely to blow up in my face when I try to activate it. So i was wasndering if there were any known code issues that would make it incompatible with PHP 5.

I recently moved a big project from PHP 4 to 5 and there were no issues at all.

This module is still in development and there have been a few issues/inconsistencies as it is still a work in progress, so all issues (that i have found at least) are listed in this thread and are with php4.

I am not sure what other versions of php people are using that are also playing with this module, but chances are that if there are issues with php4, and that’s what its been developed on, they are probably still around if you use php5 and you should probably expect it to not work flawlessly yet.

If you read the previous messages you can see the issues that people have been having so you are better acquainted with them if you are to come across them. There are a few “gotchas” that I have come across, which were to be expected! But so far wil is doing an excellent job!

Thanks again … I am in a situation where I am evaluating using Easy Gallery module as part of a major commerical web portal which will be using Expression Engine as the main content management tool.

The website is a product review type of site, and we need to be able to associate images directly with weblog articles in a way that is flexible and managable for a non-developer such as a content editor to use.

Apart from Easy Gallery I have not come across any EE extensions which seem viable for this purpose.

I am pretty sure we will be able to put some $$ into this if the solution can meet our needs.

cheers (: hereward

I am getting a blank screen when I hit the Gallery tab - no javascript errors and I have double-checked all my path settings.

As mentioned before I am running under PHP 5 - I have no choice about this, its a prerequisite.

I have solved the previous problem by disabling the Shift_FCK extension - however this is not so good as we really need this extension too.

I will now try to upload some images.

A lot of people have been getting the blank screen issue. The problem for me was jquery was looking for the system folder, which I had renamed. This has been addressed.

If your extension alters any tabs on the publish page that might be the issue, as stated in the first post.

Is there any way to configure Easy Gallery for plain HTML upload? I am presently unable to upload with EG due to proxy/firewall issues.

This may be resolved if I can discover the username and password for the firewall, however I think having the normal browser upload as a fallback is necessary.

thanks (:
