Check out my SizePlus plugin. It gets you image width/height, ratio, plus a few other extras.

Yep, that’s one way to do it, thanks for the plugin.

Hey

I have installed the plugin as described but it doesn’t appear in the plug-in manager. what I’m doing wrong?

I’m using EE 2.0 PB. Also there are 2 plugins directories wich confuse me.

Thanks a lot!

David, I could really use some help. I’ve used imagesizr on a few dozen sites but the latest one is giving me issues. The image resizing works, but the images are not being shown at typical quality. They are being uploaded via nGen File, and the uploaded versions look fine, but the versions being created and cached by Imagesizr are not good. I’ve played with the quality setting and destroyed and recreated the cache and no luck. Please help.

Example page with cruddy image: http://www.lmreview.com/articles/view/longevity-medicine-strategies-for-cardiovascular-disease-closing-the-statin-gap-in-endothelial-dysfunction-and-insulin-resistance-naturally-with-l-arginine-and-citrulline-part-2/#fn-ref-81-7

Cached image:

Image as uploaded (being fed to imagesizr):

{exp:imgsizer:size src="{image}” width=”590” alt=”{cap_title}” quality=”99”}

Any ideas?

Chad, I’d say the problem is the original image quality. Your original uploaded file is 38kb, the one through imagesizer (shrunk by 10x5 pixels) is 111kb.

I’d recommend uploading a Jpeg without any compression on it and let imagesizer work on that - it’ll be able to produce far better results.

Ditch the quality parameter as well, pretty sure it defaults to 100.

Thanks Twobelowzero, but the images I have are what I got from the client. There aren’t better versions that I know of. The quality param is only in there because leaving it out gave e the same cruddy results, so I was trying to see if using it would help, which it didn’t.

Updating from Image Sizer 2.1.2 to 2.5.6 fails and causes EE Plugin Manager to go blank

I’ve just updated from 1.6.7 to 1.6.8 and, now, going through extensions, modules, plugins, etc. to be sure I have most recent versions.

Previous version installed for Image Sizer was 2.1.2.

No matter how I do it - via the CP or manually - 2.5.6 causes the cp plugin manager screen to go blank.

Copy back 2.1.2 - all is well.

2.5.6 - and screen goes blank again.

R.BIRD: Try v2.5.5, I’m using that no problem on EE v1.6.8

@Twobelowzero - Thanks! v2.5.5 did the trick. Works fine with my 1.6.8 install. (2.5.6 would not as noted earlier).

Could I have 2.5.5 too please?

2.5.6 is not giving me an error. It’s just not working.

I’ve been at this for hours and still can not figure it out. :(

I am getting is error.

Warning: mkdir() [function.mkdir]: SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 10033 is not allowed to access /var/www/vhosts/shanesribshack.com/httpdocs/images/uploads/sized/images/uploads/ owned by uid 48 in /var/www/vhosts/shanesribshack.com/httpdocs/INNcommand/plugins/pi.imgsizer.php on line 205

I see nothing on the page just the error.

I am uploading photos in the weblog with the “File” field. It places the images in images/uploads/ and in that directory plus the main images directory I have the “sized” folder set to 777.

my code is this:

{exp:weblog:entries weblog='locations' limit='1' disable='pagination|trackbacks'}

{exp:imgsizer:size src="{store_picture2}" width="200" alt="My Title" id="img_5334" class="entry_img"}

{/exp:weblog:entries}

Am I not understanding on how to use this?

ALSO… I am not live yet at the url I am on a server at http://209.62.63.202/. I see the error has the site url and not my development IP.
