The cache directory is customizable, like I have mine set to /images/titles.

wonderful module! Thanks! but… 😊

I’m Italian and my language like French and Spanish have some letter with accent :( for example:

in English Why

in Italian Perché

In Spanish Pourqué

and if you have these words in title the result is a little box at the end of the word… Request: Can you check, if is possible, to include the “strange” letter (éèàùòì etc..)?

PS: I’ve test with a lot of fonts with complete set of characters… the result is the same… :(

TIA!

Hmmm.

I wrote a similar plugin on http://eu.autoassault.com/

All the titles for news items, pages and the menu are created dynamically using plugins.

The ones I wrote support multiple languages (EN, FR, DE - links at top) and also multiple lines.

If I get a moment I’ll pass them over - the code in mine fixes the foreign character bug, and multiple line support is useful.

They also pass out the image as a css background on an h1 element rather than an img tag - this means that text only browsers can still read the page properly (view source, you’ll see).

Wondering if there’s been any progress on adding multi-line support in this plugin? This looks terrific (have tried sIFR but you need to have Flash!), but my titles can be fairly long at times…

Sorry for the delay, completely forgot 😉

The linked plugin, newpagetitle supports multiple lines and should not have problems with dodgy characters.

This is NOT fully tested though it does work.

Download newpagetitle

I get this error when I try to load the modules page after uploading the plugin - maybe you could write a quick note on how to install?

Error

Unable to load the following language file:

/lang.new_page_title.php

That would rock 😊

I am considering images for headers for my next redesign, but since I use a mixture of posts, templates and wiki pages to put togetehr the site I am wondering if this module (or the plugin mention) can work on headers in posts as well as in templates of the weblog module and within pages on the wiki module?

Does anyone know if this works with 1.6.1?

I wonder why I stopped getting notifications for this thread? Hmm…oh well.

Development on this kinda got halted because I moved, went through a rough spell with my business and a disappearing partner, and started a new job that I absolutely loathe…

I’m in the process of getting the business back on its feet, and once that’s done, I’ll begin on the module again…with great ideas from TonyNibbles…

…of course, if 2.0 comes out any time soon, then I might not continue development on this for 1.x.x…

If your looking for an alternative way of creating title images without PHP then you should consider SIFR3

That’s what I do. Very nice to work with but strangely doesn’t show when taking screenshots!

If you look through their forums you will find a way around it. I think you can use entities to start with.
